Těžká pneumokoková infekce
Autoři popisují život ohrožující infekci Streptococcus pneumoniae u mladé ženy s pneumonií,která byla komplikována vznikem empyemu, perikarditidy a purulentní mediastinitidy. Jepopisován průběh léčby s nutností hrudní drenáže. Je upozorněno na možnost preventivnívakcinace rizikových osob.

The authors describe a life threatening infection with Streptococcus pneumoniae in a youngwoman with pneumonia complicated by the development of empyema, pericarditis and purulentmediastinitis. The authors describe the course of treatment incl. necessary thoracic drainage.Attention is drawn to possible preventive vaccination of subjects at risk.
