Proč jasné NE legalizaci asistovaného suicidia

V říjnu 1997 byla v Oregonu (USA) uzákoněna možnost provádění suicidia za asistence lékaře a v březnu 1998 lékaři pomáhali v zabíjení prvním obětem. Jsou rozebrány důvody, proč nelze tyto aktivity následovat. Je komentováno především deset argumentů dle dr. Edmunda Pelleg- rina a je zdůrazněno, že nejlepším bojem proti těmto snahám je vzdělávání v dobré paliativní a hospicové péči.

Overview

The physician-assisted suicide - The Oregon Death With Dignity Act - was implemented in October 1997 and in March 1998 physicians helped to first victims of this law. The reasons, why it is not possible to follow it are discussed and ten Dr. Edmund Pellegrino´s arguments are the matter of special interest. It is pointed out that education in good palliative and hospice care is the best fight against this trend.
