Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in Gastroenterology

Overview
The significance of oxygen inhalation at high pressure in a pressure chamber for treatingvarious hypoxic and ischemic conditions has been well known over 30 years. The author drawsattention to the possibilities of hyperbaric oxygen treatment in gastroenterology. Hyperbaricoxygen treatment is a simple, non-invasive method, which the patient tolerates very well.Further evaluation of the oxygen effect in randomised, comparative, clinical trials is necessaryfor elucidation of this effect.
