Ecchocardiography in the diagnossis of carcinoid syndrome
Může echokardiografie pomoci při diagnóze vzácného onemocnění?
Je popsána kazuistika nemocného se syndromem karcinoidu, který se manifestoval postižením pravostranných srdečních oddílů, obstrukcí dýchacích cest a červenofialovým zabarvením horní poloviny těla. Diagnózu správně stanovil kardiolog při transezofageálním vyšetření. Po intenzivní léčbě chirurgické a medikamentózní červenofialové zabarvení pacienta prakticky zmizelo.

Overview
In this case, a patient with carcinoid syndrome has been described with manifestation of right heart failure, pulmonary obstruction and red-blue skin colour of upper part of the body. The diagnosis has been correctly established after trans-oesophageal echographia examination by cardiologist. Following an intensive surgical and drug treatment, the skin colour has improved with disappearance of the red-blue colour.
