Paroxetin v léčběúzkostných poruch (I.)
Článek přináší přehled možností léčby úzkostných poruch paroxetinem v ordinaci praktickéholékaře. Účinnost a bezpečnost paroxetinu při léčení těchto poruch byla ověřena v mnohaklinických studiích. Autoři stručně seznamují čtenáře se spektrem úzkostných poruch, s jejichepidemiologií, klinikou a průběhem. Indikovanými klinickými jednotkami k léčbě paroxetinemjsou generalizovaná úzkostná porucha,panická porucha, sociální fobie, obsedantně kompulzivníporucha, posttraumatická stresová porucha a některé specifické fobie. Paroxetin je úspěšněpoužíván u starých osob a je bezpečný také u dětí.Terapeutická účinnost paroxetinu je doloženapřehledem recentních klinických i experimentálních studií.

This article provides an overview of the use of paroxetine in the treatment of anxiety disordersin patients of the general practitioner. The efficacy and safety of paroxetine have been studiedin several anxiety disorders. The epidemiology, diagnosis, and course of agoraphobia, generalizedanxiety disorder, specific phobia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety disorder,panic disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder are discussed briefly. Current available dataon the safety and efficacy of paroxetine based on double-blind, placebo-controlled trials andopen-label studies for the treatment of anxiety disorders are reviewed. Clinical guidelines forthe use of paroxetine and recommendations regarding future directions of study are discussed.
