TT Virus and its Pathogenetic Importance in Man
TT virus a jeho význam v patogenezi u člověka
TT virus (TTV) byl nově identifikován v roce 1997 v Japonsku. V současné době probíhá na celém světě intenzivní výzkum tohoto viru. Práce podává přehled dosavadních poznatků o struktuře TTV genomu, jeho klasifikaci, diagnostice, epidemiologii, způsobech šíření v lidské populaci a účincích na lidský organismus. Přesný způsob přenosu a význam TTV v patogenezi onemocnění člověka zůstávají doposud neobjasněny. Předmětem zájmu je zejména afinita tohoto agens k jaterní tkáni a možný podíl při jednotlivých typech postižení jaterního parenchymu.

The TT virus (TTV) was newly identified in 1997 in Japan. At present intensive research of this virus is underway worldwide. The authors present a review of thitherto assembled findings on the structure of the TTV genome, its classification, diagnosis, epidemiology, spread in the human population and its effect on the human organism. The exact way of transmission and importance of TTV in the pathogenesis of human disease still remains obscure. The subject of interest is in particular the affinity of this agent to hepatic tissue and the possible part played in different types of affections of the liver parenchyma.
