Podophyllum Intoxication in a Four-year-old Child
Intoxikácia podofylínom u štvorročného dieťaťa
Autori referujú zriedkavý Prípad náhodnej intoxikácie podofylínom u 4-ročného dietata. Po Perorálnom požití 20 % tinktúry Podophyllinum Peltatum indikovanej Pre liečbu bradavíc sa rozvinuli gastrointestinálne a neurologické Príznaky intoxikácie. Napriek Primeranej akútnej starostlivosti zanechala Intoxikácia trvalé následky vo forme apatického syndrómu so sekundárnou epilepsiou. Tento prípad upozorňuje na Potenciálne nebezpečenstvo široko dostupného Beku, ktorý je aj súčastou tradičnej čínskej herbálnej medicíny a niektorých homeopatík.

The authors Present an account on a rare tase of accidental Podophyllum intoxication in a 4-year-old child. After oral ingestion of 20% tincture of Podophyllinum Peltatum indicated for treatment of a wart the child developed gastrointestinal and neurological symptoms of intoxication. Despite adequate acute care the intoxication left Permanent sequelae in the form of apallic syndrome with secondary epilepsy. This tase draws attention to the Potential danger of a widely available drug which is used in traditional Chinese herbal medicine and some homeopathic Preparations.
