Bone Mineral Density in Girls with Turner’s Syndrome Treated with Growth Hormone
Kostní denzita u dívek s Turnerovým syndromem léčených růstovým hormonem
U dvou skupin dívek s Turnerovým syndromem byla před léčbou růstovým hormonem (GH), v jejím průběhu a po jejím ukončení vyšetřena kostní denzita (BMD) dvoufotonovou denzitometrií (DEXA, Lunar DPX-L, Lunar Corp.) v oblasti L2 - L4.U 20 prepubertálních dívek byla léčba GH zahájena ve věku 10,0 ± 1,4 roků (průměr ± SEM) při kostním věku 8,4 ± 1,3 roků. Před léčbou GH bylo z-skóre BMD vztažené k chronologickému věku (BMD-CA) významně sníženo (-1,75 ± 0,28), zatímco z-skóre BMD vztažené ke kostnímu věku (BMD-BA) (-0,42 ± 0,19) a k výškovému věku (BMD-HA) (0,18 ± 0,13) bylo v mezích normy. In two groups of girls with Turner’s syndrome before treatment with growth hormone (GH), during treatment and after its termination bone density (BMD) was examined by two-photon densitometry (DEXA, Lunar DPX-L, Lunar Corp.) in the area of L2-L4.In 20 prepubertal girls GH treatment was started at the age of 10.0 ± 1.4 years (mean ± SEM), bone age 8.4 ± 1.3 years. Before GH treatment the BMD z-score related to chronological age (BMD-CA) was significantly reduced (-1.75 ± 0.28), while the z-score related to bone age (BMD-BA) (-0.42 ± 0.19) and to height age (BMD-HA) (0.18 ± 0.13) was within the normal range.
