Autori opisujú priebeh hospitalizácie a diferenciálno-diagnostický postup u 5-mesačného dojčaťa s akútnymrespiračným disstres syndrómom. V imunologickom obraze bol prítomný deficit s hypogamaglobulinémiou triedyG. Sérologické vyšetrenia vrátane anti-CMV IgG a IgM boli negatívne. Histologické vyšetrenie post mortemukázalo kongenitálny defekt bunkovej imunity a generalizovanú cytomegalovírusovú infekciu.
