Skeletal Defects in the Surgery of the Rheumatologist
Skeletální vady v ordinaci revmatologa
Vrozené vývojové vady skeletu patří svým výskytem mezi vzácnější onemocnění. Tvoří heterogennískupinu onemocnění jak co do klinických projevů, tak co do patogeneze. Studium skeletálníchdysplazií přináší vlivem rozvoje molekulární biologie nové poznatky. Zlepšenou prenatální dia-gnostikou se zvyšuje pravděpodobnost jejich časného záchytu. Kauzální léčba však dosud nenímožná a pacienti jsou odkázáni většinou na symptomatickou terapii, jak o tom svědčí kazuistickésdělení o postižení spondyloepifyzeální dysplazií.

Inborn developmental skeletal defects are rather rare. They form a heterogeneous group of diseasesas regards clinical manifestations and pathogenesis. Investigations of skeletal dysplasias revealednew findings thanks to the development of molecular biology. Better prenatal diagnosis increasesthe probability of their early detection. Causal treatment is however not possible so far and themajority of patients must rely on symptomatic treatment, as apparent from the case-record ofa patient with spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia.
