Photodynamic Therapy with the Preparation Visudyne in Macular Degenerationwith Subfoveal, Predominantly Classic Choroidal Neovascularization
Fotodynamická terapie s preparátem Visudyne u makulár-ní degenerace se subfoveolárně uloženou převážněklasickou choroidální neovaskularizací
Fotodynamická terapie s preparátem Visudyne (FTV) jako jediná statisticky významně zpomaluje pokles vizu u nemocných s věkem podmíněnou a myopickoumakulární degenerací se subfoveolárně uloženou převážně klasickou choroidálníneovaskularizací. Vlastní zkušenosti s ošetřením prvních 12 pacientů prezentujeme v této práci. Při 6 měsíců trvající léčbě došlo ke ztrátě více než 3 řádků ETDRSoptotypů u 2 pacientů (17 %). Prezentované výsledky FTV odpovídají publikovaným údajům v zahraniční literatuře. Vzhledem k tomu, že roční výsledky léčbyu dvou nemocných jsou povzbudivé, je nutné v budoucnu sledovat prodlužující sedobu léčby a rozšířit soubor nemocných.

Photodynamic therapy with the preparation Visudyne (PDT) is the only treatmentwhich retards statistically significantly the decline of vision in patients with agerelated and myopic macular degeneration with a subfoveal, predominantly classicchoroidal neovascularization. The authors present their own experience with thetreatment of the first 12 patients. During 6-month treatment a loss of more than3 lines of ETDRS optotypes was recorded in two patients (17%). The presentedresults of FTV are consistent with data published abroad. As the one-year therapeutic results in two patients are encouraging, it will be necessary in future toprolong the follow up time and increase the number of patients.
