Overview
Bleeding from injured anterior ethmoidal artery (AEA) usually requires surgical intervention. Several possible techniques of ligation or coagulation of AEA have been described, via external approach, as well as transnasal techniques. The authors present a case of recurrent posttraumatic epistaxis with successful use of transcaruncular approach AEA coagulation, under control of rigid endoscope, and discuss its advantages and possible risks in comparison with other approaches.
Keywords:
anterior ethmoidal artery, anterior epistaxis, transcaruncular orbitotomy.
