Which Conditions of the Medical Profession Are the Most Stressful? What Are the Health Risks for the MedicalDoctors and How it Affects Their Patients?
PŘETÍŽENÝ LÉKAŘ I.Jaké okolnosti profese jsou pro lékaře stresující?Jakými poruchami zdraví lékaři trpí, jaké to má důsledky pro pacienty?
Kromě tradičních stresů lékařské profese (především časový stres, jednání s obtížnými pacienty, terapeutickéneúspěchy, zasahování profese do soukromého života) se v posledních desetiletích musí lékaři vyrovnávat i s pok-račující technizací a byrokratizací medicíny, které vedou k narušení terapeutického vztahu mezi lékařem, a sezhoršujícími se osobními vztahy. Lékaři jsou více než jiní profesionálové pod tlakem obav z potenciálních rizika jsou proto úzkostnější. Největším zdravotním rizikem je pro lékaře syndrom vyhoření, který se dá ve stručnosticharakterizovat jako ztráta pozitivního vztahu k sobě i k okolí a ztráta pracovní schopnosti.

Beside the traditional stress of the medical profession (namely the stress of time, dealing with tiresome patients,non-success in therapy, outgrowing of profession into the private life), during the last decades doctors have to copewith the growing instrumentalization and byrocratization of medicine. It may impair the personal relations of doctorsand their attitude to patients. Medical doctors are more than other professionals under the pressure of worries andpotential risks and therefore they are more anxious. The largest health risk for the medical professionals appears theburnout syndrome. It can be characterised as a loss of the positive relation to himself and to surrounding and the lossof the working competence.
