Overview

A case report of 50 year-old female suffering from muscle pains. Diagnosis of polymyositis was based on elevated muscle enzymes and electromyographic findings. Paraneoplastic origin was confirmed by findings: computer tomography for cancer of head and body of pancreas, and histology for stomach cancer. A concise review of paraneoplastic syndrome with emphasis on dermatomyositis/polymyositis syndrome is presented.
