A Procedure Supplement for Tissue Processingfrom Percutaneous Renal Biopsies
Metodický doplnok pre spracovanie perkutánnych obličkových biopsií
Keď sa tkanivový valček získaný pomocou perkutánnej obličkovej biopsie rozdelí na nekoľkonerovnakých časti pre rutínnu biopsiu, ultraštruktúrnu analýzu a imunohistochémiu, môže sastať, že chýbajú glomeruly, čo v sérii pripravených kryostatových rezov spôsobí, že nie sú použi-teľné pre imunohistochémiu. V minulosti preto autori overovali ich prítomnosť kontrolným re-zom, ofarbeným hematoxilínom a eozínom. Nakoľko zdravotné poisťovne odmietli tento preparátpreplácať, autori navrhli farbiť len jeden z kryostatových rezov Sudanovou červeňou.Tieto preparáty poisťovne akceptovali a pretože poskytovali informácie o prítomnosti a o počteglomerúl, stali sa kontrolné rezy ofarbené hematoxylínom a eozínom zbytočné. Ušetril sa tým časa finančné náklady a súčasne sa získali poznatky o prípadnej steatóze, jej intenzite a lokalizácii.

The division of a tissue cylinder from percutaneous renal biopsy into several unequal parts forroutine biopsy, ultrastructural analysis, and immunohistochemistry may infrequently cause ab-sence of glomeruli rendering the slides for immunohistochemical staining unusuitable. Instead ofpreviously stained hematoxylin and eosin slide serving for checking up of the presence or absen-ce of glomeruli defrayed by Health Care Insurance Companies the proposed additional controlcryostat slide was stained by the Sudan Red stain.Such slides were fully accepted by the Insurance authorities and providing information of thepresence and number of glomeruli have eliminated the need for a control hematoxylin and eosinstain. This saved time and expenses and at the same time brought information on the presence,degree and location of steatosis
