Infekcie u detí zapríčinené kvasinkami rodu Candida
Infekcie vyvolané kvasinkami rodu Candida sú častou príčinou stúpajúcej morbidity a mortality u detí, hlavneu kojencov s nízkou pôrodnou hmotnosťou, hospitalizovaných na novorodeneckých jednotkách intenzívnej starostlivosti.Rizikovými faktormi zodpovednými za vznik a výskyt kandidóz v detskom veku sú používanie širokospektrálnychantibiotík, prematurita, katetrizácia, hyperalimentácia, prolongovaná endotracheálna intubáciaa tracheotómia, imunodeficientné syndrómy, chirurgický zákrok, malignity, sprievodná bakteriálna infekcia,diabetes mellitus, terapia kortikosteroidmi a cytotoxickými látkami a ďalšie. Candida species môžu infikovaťktorýkoľvek orgán, alebo systém ľudského organizmu. Primárnym miestom infekcie je krvné riečisko, mozgovépleny, močový trakt, alebo ochorenie je často diseminované.V prezentovanej práci sa autori pokúsili popísať príčiny a príznaky rôznych kandidových infekcií, napr.nervového, gastrointestinálneho, respiračného, urogenitálneho systému, krvného riečiska, očí, kože, kožných adnexa ústnej dutiny.

Infections caused by saccharomyces of Candida genus are the frequent cause of increasing morbidity andmortality of children, especially in suckling infants of low birth weight, hospitalized at newborn intensive careunits. Risk factors responsible for the origin and occurrence of candidoses at the child age include the use ofbroad-spectrum antibiotics, prematurity, catheterization, hyperalimentation, prolonged endotracheal intubationand tracheotomy, immunodeficient syndromes, surgical intervention, malignancies, accompanying bacterial infection,diabetes mellitus, therapy with corticoids, and cytotoxic chemical etc. Candida species can infect any organor system of human organism. The blood vascular bed is the primary site of the infection as well as meninges,urinary tract of the disease is frequently disseminated.In the present paper the authors set to describe the causes and symptoms of various candida infections, e.g.those affecting nervous, gastrointestinal, respiratory, urogenital system, vascular bed, eyes, skin, skin adnexa andoral cavity.
