Overview
The authors discuss eating disorders. They draw attention to some somatic aspects of anorexia nervosa andbulimia. These are psychosomatic diseases where at the onset of treatment it is important to rule out other somaticor mental diseases. The disorder leads apart from typical psychic changes also to serious somatic changes, tomarked hypotrophy or cachexia. Regime therapy and psychotherapy are called for. Typical somatic changesdevelop in conjunction with prolonged malnutrition. During treatment principles of proper realimentation mustbe respected and the patient´s target weight must be given.
