Overview
The authors describe the case of a 38-year-old otherwise healthy male, followed after dysplastic naevi removal, who underwent an excision of a naevus with dark island in occipital region. Histologic examination showed combined compound melanocytic naevus and pigmented epithelioid melanocytoma, which has metastatic potential, but its clinical course is indolent. Subsequently a re-excision with additional margins and regional lymph nodes ultrasonography was performed, both with negative results. A brief review of current knowledge is presented.
