Manifestation of Genetically Conditioned Syndromes in the Orofacial Region
Manifestácia geneticky podmienených syndrómov v orofaciálnej oblasti
Autor sa v príspevku zaoberá problematikou geneticky podmienených ochorení a ich mani- festáciou v kraniofaciálnej oblasti. Úvodná časť práce je zameraná na predstavenie jednotlivých skupín dedičných ochorení, syndrómov a ich vzájomných vzťahov. Vo vlastnej, pôvodnej časti príspevku sú prezentovaní pacienti zo skupiny ektodermálnych dysplázií a pacienti s William- sovým syndrómom, včetne ich vyšetrenia, genetického, klinicko-morfologického a stomatolo- gického. Rovnako sú načrtnuté i stomatologicko terapeutické postupy pre bežnú i špecializova- nú stomatologickú prax.

The author discusses in his paper the problem of genetically conditioned diseases and their manifestation in the craniofacial region. In the introductory part attention is focused on different groups of hereditary diseases, syndromes and their mutual relationships. In the original part of the paper the author presents patients from the group of ectodermal dysplasias and patients with Williams syndrome, incl. genetic, clinical, morphological and stomatiological examination. The author outlines also therapeutic dental procedures for common and specia- lized dental practice.
