Differences in the Perception of Body Image between Menand Women
Rozdíly v percepci tělesného schématumezi muži a ženami
Cílem našeho výzkumu bylo zjistit, zda mezi muži a ženami existují rozdíly ve spokoje-nosti s tělesnou váhou a tělesnými proporcemi, v dodržování diet a v percepci aktuálního, ideální-ho a atraktivního tělesného schématu. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo 50 studentů a 50 studentekUniverzity Palackého v Olomouci. Zjistili jsme, že ženy se zabývají svými tělesnými rozměry,váhou a dietami ve větší míře než muži. Průměrná aktuální váha žen byla o víc jak 2 kg vyšší nežjejich ideální váha, zatímco u mužů se jejich aktuální a ideální váha téměř shodovala. U žen jetělesné schéma, které odpovídá jejich ideálu, signifikantně štíhlejší než aktuální tělesné schéma.U mužů se proporce současné a ideální postavy statisticky významně neliší. Ženy považují zaatraktivní podstatně štíhlejší ženskou postavu než muži. Využití kreseb mužských a ženskýchpostav se při posuzování tělesného schématu osvědčilo.

The study examined sex differences in satisfaction with body weight and body shape, dieting andperceptions of the current, ideal and the most attractive body image. The sample consisted of 50male and 50 female undergraduates of Palacky University in Olomouc. The concern with bodyimage, weight and dieting was greater in women than men. In women, the average current weightwas more than 2 kg higher than the ideal weight. In men, the current and the ideal weight werealmost identical. In women, the ideal body image was significantly thinner than the actual one. Inmen, there was no significant difference between their current and ideal figure. Women thinkthat men like women thinner than men report. Using of figure drawings for estimating bodyimage proved satisfactory.
