Cíl studie:
Cílem retrospektivní studie bylo prezentovat výsledky roční práce Oddělení resuscitace a intenzivní medicíny (ORIM) při Klinice anesteziologie, resuscitace a intenzivní medicíny (KARIM) Lékařské fakulty Masarykovy univerzity v Brně a Fakultní nemocnice Brno.

Název a sídlo pracoviště:
Klinika anesteziologie, resuscitace a intenzivní medicíny Lékařské fakulty Masarykovy univerzity v Brně a Fakultní nemocnice Brno.

Materiál a metoda:
Do retrospektivní studie bylo zahrnuto období jednoho roku od vzniku ORIM, tedy od 1. 10. 2005 do 30. 9. 2006. Sledovali jsme následující parametry: počet lůžek, počet hospitalizovaných pacientů a parametry jejich hospitalizace, personální a přístrojové vybavení kliniky a způsob organizace práce na klinice.

Výsledky:
Oddělení má v současné době 23 lůžek a je tak největším pracovištěm tohoto typu na Moravě. V dubnu 2006 byl celému pracovišti udělen statut kliniky. KARIM se významně podílí na pre- i postgraduálním vzdělávání lékařských a nelékařských profesí. V prvním roce provozu resuscitační části bylo na lůžkách ORIM hospitalizováno 897 pacientů s průměrnou délkou hospitalizace 6,4 dne, se smrtností 13,5 % při průměrném skóre APACHE II 20,55.

Závěr:
Podařilo se vytvořit materiálně i personálně stabilizované pracoviště, které poskytuje multidisciplinární resuscitační a vyšší intenzivní péči na vysoké úrovni pacientům s velmi širokým spektrem diagnóz z rozsáhlého území.

Overview

Objective:
The aim of this retrospective study was to present the results of the one-year work of the new Department of resuscitation and intensive care medicine of the Department of anaesthesiology, resuscitation and intensive care medicine of the Medical School of Masaryk University and University Hospital Brno. Design: Retrospective descriptive study.

Setting:
The Department of anaesthesiology, resuscitation and intensive care medicine of the Medical school of Masaryk University and University Hospital Brno.

Material and methods:
The article describes our one-year experience, from 1st October 2005 to 30th September 2006, at this centralized institution of resuscitation and intensive care in a large teaching hospital. The evaluated parameters were the capacity of the department, the number of patients and parameters of their hospitalization, the staffing and equipment of the department and the work organization of the department.

Results:
The department has 23 beds and it is the largest department of its kind in Moravia. The department became a teaching department in April 2006. The Department of anaesthesiology, resuscitation and intensive care medicine greatly participates in the undergraduate and postgraduate education of medical and non-medical professionals. During the first year 897 patients were hospitalized in the Department with the average length of stay 6.4 days, mortality of 13.5% and the average APACHE II score of 20.55.

Conclusion:
The new department has successfully become established as a substantive part of the high standard of resuscitation and intensive care in Moravia.
